More photos have been received by our agency of the legendary resistance by HPG guerrillas in Heftanin where more than 300 Turkish soldiers have been killed since the Turkish state initiated an occupation operation in the area in 16 June.
While the occupying Turkish state is struggling to hold onto the few bases it has left in the area, the HPG and YJA-Star guerrillas fighting in Heftanin have been signed another victory with great enthusiasm and sacrifice.
We are sharing the second part of our file named “The Heftanin war in photos II” for those who are curious about the resistance in Heftanin.
A poem written by Heftanin fighter, guerrilla Dersim Mahir:
“In Heftanin, where resistance comes to life and every stone smells of resistance, every guerrilla fights like a commander. Heftanin, where the guerrilla meets with nature, has become a philosophy. Living in such an endless, rooted home where the stone is your pillow… You squeeze all your belongings into your heart and set out with your gun to hunt the hellhounds wanting to tear your home apart.
Every place where the guerrilla lands in Heftanin has become a position and a front. The resistance, which derives from hope, enthusiasm and an endless love, is strengthened and history is re-written for all the people who have united in Kurdistan. All the lost souls, regardless of ethnicity or identity, find themselves here. This is the land of the lost, and the land of the found. And the land of those who will never accept being lost again.
The guerrillas truly do fit everything they have into their hearts. How else can the looks of people be so full of life, for people who are so close to death? Their ambitions turn into giant rage and slap on the face of the enemy soldiers. This resistance in Heftanin is the war of love.”
