The word Betrayal means ‘an act of deliberate disloyalty.’ Those who can be terminologically referred to traitors (people who betray) are those who “prove false, violate by unfaithfulness; deliver or expose to the power of an enemy by treachery, mislead, deceive, or delude.”
A meeting was held between the dishonourable president of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and the president of the terrorist Turkish state, Rapist Tayyip Erdogan. This exact moment in the immaculately ticking mechanism of the universe, appears to be the most suitable… to outline what betrayal is.
As the fascist attacks by the occupiers of Kurdistan continue – they have intensified extremely over the past years, a population of over 45 million people are wanted to be completely wiped out from the planet. Those who refuse to reject the burden of being Kurdish are targetted by the loaded barrels of many world governments. Those who do not made a radical choice are either Americanized, Turkified or Arabized.
Nechirvan Barzani is the president of an American project – a laboratory, the People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan describes. To fully understand this project, one must not overlook the fact that the people of Southern Kurdistan are the most prone to rise up against injustice, as well as analysing the sociological construction of societies within Kurdistan in terms of statism.
The people of Kurdistan have lived since their existence in mountainous terrains, far from the dirt of the city or the pollution of the state. Till the East Orient plan implemented in Turkey-occupied northern Kurdistan, the Kurds did not know what a state was but has existed for centuries as a people who were administering themselves.
Rather than having laws, the Kurdish people preserved their honour through morals and ethics. Instead of imprisoning wrongdoers, Kurds would cast out the person who had betrayed the values of society. In short, the state is all that Kurdish society is not. This is why a state-system could never fully function in Kurdistan without changing the societies of Kurdistan, stripping them of their roots and identities.
Nevertheless, the lack of Kurdish independence or freedom was always pinned down to not having a Kurdish state. This narrative was not only told by the Kurdish nationalists, take the KDP for example, who wanted to make propaganda but was in fact a scheme by Britain, France, Russia and America to controllably stabilize the unresting Middle East according to the deals and plans they had made.
Such a statist system being ruled by a nepotist clan was constructed in southern Kurdistan, and was named the Kurdistan Regional Government, as if this part of Kurdistan was the only part. Genocide was carried out against the Kurds in every other part to support the idea that Kurdistan was limited to the KRG. The rest of the country was wanted to be brushed under a continental carpet, so finally America could activate its occupation-dog of the Middle East which is Turkey. Not to mention that Russia would also be able to comfortably exploit Syria’s underground. This is only one side of the story, though.
A system of democratic confederalism which the peoples’ leader Abdullah Ocalan envisions for Kurdistan is a system which threatens the entire world, not only Turkey, Iraq, Iran, or Syria. Because the state is only the tool being used to implement capitalism and could not co-exist with a women’s liberationist system which is economically independent, ecologically sustainable, communally operable, and politically democratic. The foundations of the current system is based on monopolies, exploitation and a classist system. Thus, the brain behind this idea, the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan was quickly branded a terrorist by liberal Europe and was abducted in an international conspiracy (Barzani also played a key role in this abduction) in Kenya, and given to the Turkish state.
Personal betrayal, national balkanization
The atrocities that have been committed by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people are uncountable. But it is an undeniable fact of Kurdish history that these atrocities started with betrayal.
After making false promises of providing independence to the Kurds, the Kurdish people helped Turkey win their ‘national liberation’ war. Giving a substantial percent of their population as martyrs to the war of the Turks, the Sevres treaty was signed and promises had been made to the Kurds till Lausanne and then Kurdistan was partitioned into four, being gifted to Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. The Kurds were later initiated a witch-hunt against by the armies of their occupying countries with the pressure of Turkey, who was made aware of Kurdish independence desires and wanted to block any future ‘difficulties’ before they happened.
The system which is currently being implemented in southern Kurdistan – the Kurdistan Regional Government, is being run by the KDP, run by the Barzani family as if it were a business. This family has since the begining of the establishment of the KRG worked actively against the PKK rather than the Turkish state which poses an existential threat. It has overlooked the bombardments being carried out in southern Kurdistan by the terrorist Turkish state, the civilian massacres, always claiming that the problem was the PKK.
Recently, the Barzani family implied that they were unable to figth against Turkey so the PKK should leave and maybe then Turkey wouldn’t attack… And it was right to an extent. Because if no one is fighting against occupation, there is no fight. Just occupation and dishonour.
And the Barzani gang did more than surrendering and asking the PKK to leave. Over the recent weeks, we saw soldiers of the KDP detonate guerrilla camps and provide the coordinates of PKK guerrillas for the fascist Turkish state to bomb. We knew that this lowly family had abandoned the people of Shengal, leaving them defenceless against ISIS jihadists which were making preparations to seize the area. We are aware that the traitors are applying an ambargo on Mexmur refugee camp despite the pandemic, purely because the Turkish state wishes for these people to die. We saw that the KDP handed over Kurdish activists and women to the blood-hungry jaws of the Turkish state for them to be tortured and interrogated. Is there a betrayal worse than hitting people who are already on the floor? And especially if those people are your people, is there any excuse which can justify something so dishonourable? And worst of all is that Nechirvan will never be accepted by the Turkish state. The flag which was chosen for southern Kurdistan will never be accepted in Turkey, no matter how much the Barzani family continue to sell themselves to their monger.
