Sharing a written statement regarding the actions they carried out against the fascist Turkish army, the Peoples’ Protection Forces (HPG) said:
“Within the scope of Cenga Heftanin Revolutionary Move, our forces carried out an assassination against the invading Turkish army positioned on Martyr Sipan Hill in the Bektoria area on September 12 at 16.30. 1 enemy soldier was punished in this action.”
In the same statement, the following information was given regarding an operation carried out by the invading Turkish army in Hakkari:
“On September 9, at 12.30, the invading Turkish army bombed the İsmail Ağa area in Hakkari’s Sümbül Mountain region with warplanes and attack helicopters, and then an operation was started with Skorsky helicopters. During the operation, intense clashes took place between our forces and the invaders.
Taking heavy blows, the invading Turkish army bombed the area with Cobra helicopters. During the clashes and air strikes, our comrades Çekdar, Dilovan, Ronahi and Dersim, who fought heroically against the invading Turkish army and hit the enemy with heavy blows, were martyred. Detailed credentials of our comrades who were martyred will be shared with the public later. ”
The statement also included information about Turkish state’s air strikes against areas under guerrilla control:
“The invading Turkish army carried out attacks against Medya Defense Zones. Details of the attacks carried out are as follows:
On September 12, between 23.30-01.00, warplanes belonging to the invading Turkish army bombed the vicinity of Perax village in the Heftanin region.
On September 10, at 09.00, the climbing area of the Metina region and the Mervanos area of the Avashin region were bombed with mortars and howitzers between 10.00-14.00 on September 12.
Fires which started in both areas after the bombardments still continue. “
