YPS (Civil Defence Units) stated in a written statement that the Martyr Erîş Mordem Retaliation Teams carried out actions in Amed, Muğla and Denizli against the racist attacks on Kurdish workers in Sakarya. In addition, the Units added that “As the People’s Defense Units, we will be in action everywhere against the fascism of the state, its economic foundations, its trustees and institutions in order to defend our values and existence.”
The statement is as follows:
Retaliation Teams burned a service vehicle belonging to the AKP-appointed trustee in Amed’s Bağlar district on September 6. The service vehicle of fascist, invading collaborators of the AKP became unusable in the action.
On September 6, a commercial building which is frequently visited by tourists was burned in Denizli Merkezefendi. At the end of the action, one workplace was completely destroyed and other workplaces were damaged.
On September 6, a parked luxury jeep was burned in the Gökpınar District of Denizli – Pamukkale. At the end of the action, the luxury jeep belonging to the agents was completely destroyed.
On September 4, a workplace located in the industrial area of Muğla’s Menteşe district was burned with cars. At the end of the action, the workplace and cars became unusable.”
The YPS concluded their statement with the following words: “The attacks of the Turkish state, which knows no borders in terms fascism, is increasing day by day against the existence of the Kurdish people. This fascist mentality has become desperate in the face of Kurdish freedom and it attacks dishonourably. For this reason, organizing in the fields has become more vital than bread and water.
We, as the People’s Defence Units, will be in action everywhere against state fascism, from its trusteeships to its economic foundations and its institutions, in order to defend our values and defend our existence.
Everyone must participate in the move for revenge with on-ground defence method and tactics. We call on all our people and valiant young people to enter a position of self-defence.
These actions we carried out were carried out as retaliation against the attack in Sakarya.”
