The murderer set Merve Yeşiltaş and himself on fire by using petrol. Yeşiltaş (31) and Durgun (22) were both taken to Fatsa State Hospital in Ordu with the diagnosis of second degree burns by emergency service teams.
After an argument between Yeşiltaş and the murderer, with whom she lived for a while, Durgun poured the gasoline of the chainsaw in the house first onto Yeşiltaş and then on himself and burned it with a lighter. Both were severely burned in the attack.
Merve Yeşiltaş lost her life after struggling for two days, and the murderer’s condition is critical.
A large-scale investigation was launched into the femicide.
