Jinên Tirêjên Rojê (The Women of the Sun) Initiative shared details of an action taken against a police station in the Canary district on August 13. The young women’s organisation disclosed in a written statement that the two young people who were detained in the area had no connection to the initiative.
The statement made is as follows:
“These actions were carried out against the isolation, pressure and impositions on Leader Apo and all prisoners. We bow with respect before the struggle and resistance of Leader Apo and our comrades. As long as this pressure and isolation does not end, we state to the public that our actions will continue without slowing down. It will continue to expand and grow.”
Action
”On August 13, we undertook action against the police station in the Canary district. Our unit first hit the police station with hand-made explosives, causing the police at the station to flee in fear and panic.
Afterwards, TEM (Anti-terror) and special operations police units around and inside the police station entered into armed conflict with our units. Our units retreated from the scene safely by repelling the enemy forces.
The fascist police, who blockaded the neighborhood with dozens of armored and civilian vehicles, insulted and oppressed our civilians. During the action, our units did nothing to harm civilians, but dozens of police officers caught two young people, battering and torturing them.
We point out that both young people have nothing to do with our units and the action.
On 15 August, a drug production warehouse, two vehicles and a workplace belonging to the fascists in Tuzla, Istanbul, were burned and destroyed by our units.
On August 15, a vehicle belonging to Ottoman Hearths was burned and destroyed in a neighborhood where AKP-MHP fascists were concentrated in Istanbul Küçükçekmece.
Until the isolation and repression end, our actions will continue to grow against fascist people and state forces.”
