Hasan Tahsin Kaya, the lawyer for the former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş who is being detained in Edirne Prison, passed away at the Trakya University Medical Faculty Hospital.
Selahattin Demirtaş, in his post about the death of 43-year-old Hasan Tahsin Kaya on his social media accounted, stated:
“Unfortunately, we lost our brother Hasan Tahsin Kaya, who is registered in Edirne Bar Association and also worked as a lawyer, due to a heart attack. I’m so sorry. We will never forget his efforts, we will always keep his memory alive. Thanks to your relatives and all our friends. May Allah have mercy.”
Edirne Bar Association President Alper Pınar published a condolence message on social media after Kaya’s death.
Pınar said, “I feel the pain of sharing a sad news. Unfortunately, we lost our bar member Lawyer Hasan Tahsin Kaya, untimely. Our sorrow is great. His trace and character will never be forgotten. I wish mercy from God, patience and condolences to family members, relatives, our bar association, and our entire profession. May his place be heaven “
