ELÎH, NORTHERN KURDISTAN
18-year-old İE, who committed suicide after being raped by Turkish specialist sergeant Musa Orhan in the district of Beşiri in Elîh, lost her life yesterday in the hospital where she was being treated.
The funeral of İE was taken to the Batman Regional Hospital after an autopsy. Her body was delivered to the family 17 hours later at around 03:00.
The funeral, which was taken to Batman Asri Cemetery, was buried under an intense police blockade.
Police Intervention at a funeral
While the funeral was buried, nobody except the family was allowed into the cemetery. The police prevented the representatives of parliamentarians, political parties, human rights defenders and non-governmental organizations from entering.
While the crowd that was not allowed into the cemetery reacted, the police intervened attempted to provoke the HDP Siirt Deputy Sıdık Taş and the group next to him.
The funeral was buried by family members.
