Two clashes took place between the guerrillas of the Communist Party of India – Maoist, or CPI-M, who hit the Indian state, soldiers, and police with a series of powerful actions.
Last Monday, it was announced that there was a clash between the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and Indian soldiers-police officers on the border of Lakhisarai and Munger districts in the Indian state of Bihar. No information was given regarding the casualties of the clash which lasted for over an hour.
It was stated that the special forces together with the police ambushed the area and started an operation upon the intelligence that Maoist guerrillas camped in the region, and the guerrillas who noticed the operation retreated to the forest and opened fire on law enforcement officers.
A police official who made a statement about the operation stated that the guerrillas opened fire first during the operation and the operation forces responded in retaliation. The police official who led the operation said that Maoist guerrillas are training in hilly areas and the operations will continue.
Also last Sunday, a clash took place between CPI-M guerrillas and law enforcement officers in a forested area of the Bargahr region. Again, the police and special operations forces informed that an operation was launched by the Special Operations Group and reserve police forces upon the intelligence that the Maoists would carry out “anti-state activities” in the region.
Noticing the operation team in the morning, a 15-person guerrilla unit opened fire on the operation team. In response to the fire, it was learned that the operation force called on the guerrillas to “surrender”, and the guerrillas continued to fire by shouting “Lal Salaam (Red Greetings)” in return.
It was stated that the guerrilla unit, which took advantage of the rain and forest area, retreated from the area without any casualties during the half-hour conflict.
