A young Syrian named Abdulkadir Davud died as a result of a fascist attack on the coast of Zeytinburnu.
A group of young Syrians who had gone to Zeytinburnu beach on a Sunday holiday were attacked by an intoxicated fascist. Abdulkadir Davud (21), one of the Syrian refugees who tried to escape from the bullets of the attacker, lost his life.
Ahmed Uzun (20), one of the witnesses of the incident, told Ercüment Akdeniz from Evrensel Newspaper:
“We were chatting in a park on the Zeytinburnu coast. We went to the station to go home. We were waiting for the Esenler bus. An unknown man came out of his window and started cursing at us. We asked, “Why are you cursing, what did we do to you?” He continued, “Leave you Syrians,” and swore very heavily. We did not swear.”
Stating that the attacker entered his home and his wife came out to the balcony this time, Uzun said that the wife told the young people to called to “Run away, he is drunk, he went to get his gun.”
Expressing that they started to run away, Uzun said, “Three gunshots came from behind. Two of them got stuck in Abdulkadir, one was wasted. When we returned, the child was covered in blood. I guess he died when the ambulance came to pick him up. I took his picture on the beach that day.”
Abdulkadir’s father died in Syria, so he moved to Istanbul with his 6 sisters and mother. “We ran away from war, but Abdulkadir was killed here. As his family and friends, we want justice,” Uzun said.
