CENTRAL NEWS

Expert sergeant Musa Orhan, who raped and abducted İpek Er for almost 4 days in Batman was finally arrested yesterday, after the young woman who later committed suicide was buried. The fascist Turkish state, which had no intention of detaining the rapist, released him today, only a week after his arrest.

After an arrest warrant was issued for Orhan following national and international outcry, the rapist Turkish soldier was taken into custody by the Siirt Police Department and was arrested and sent to prison.

While the first hearing of the rapist at the Siirt 1st High Criminal Court was expected to take place on October 16, he was released by court decision a week after his arrest.

It is being suspected by feminist circles and human rights organisations that the arrest was made temporarily until tensions died out.
