KASSEL, GERMANY
As part of the worldwide civil disobedience actions led by Kurdish and internationalist youth against Turkish aggression against Kurdistan, the youth of Kassel carried out an action in front of a factory of the German arms giant Rheinmetall. The company produces weapons for repressive regimes across much of the world.
The action organized within the scope of the “Bi Hev Re Serhildan” move started during the working hours of the factory. In the action in which the entrance and exit of the factory was blocked by the activists, the operation of the factory was prevented.
Nearly 200 Kurdish and international activists are continuing their protests in front of the factory with various banners and different models.
Many special operations police have mobilised in the area while activity by police helicopters over the factory continues. Kurdish and German youth can be heard shouting “German Panzers out of Kurdistan, Long Live The Resistance of Rojava,” and “Europe funds, Turkey bombs.”
The activists, who will continue their protest in front of the factory until 16 o’clock, will march from Kassel Halitplatz to Königplatz at 16:00.
