The HPG, People’s Protection Forces, shared in a written statement that the Guerrilla forces hit a Skorsky helicopter belonging to the terrorist Turkish army in Çarçella.
“Within the scope of the Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Move, our forces carried out an action against the Skorsky helicopters of the invading Turkish army returning from the Çarçel Hill in the Çarçella area in the Zagros region on August 16 at 10:00.” The force further detailed that the helicopter was dropped and fell far from the area of action.
“Again, our forces targeted another Skorsky helicopter that took off from the hill about 10 minutes later. This helicopter, which was hit effectively, received heavy blows and had to move away towards Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) direction.
These actions were carried out in memory of the 2 Iraqi army commanders who were martyred along with our comrade Agit Garzan, who was martyred in the attacks of the invading Turkish state.”
