Bahar Özcan was killed in her sleep by her husband in Istanbul’s Büyükçekmece district, while another woman, Mücella Demir, who was found wounded by her husband in her home in Amed’s Bağlar district, died on her way to hospital.

In the Muratçeşme neighborhood of the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul, a man named Ünal Özcan killed Bahar Özcan, whom he had been married to for eight years. The killer was arrested after the murder.
Bahar’s corpse was sent to her hometown, Sivas, to be buried.
Mücella Demir
34-year-old Mücella Demir was found shot at her home in the Yunus Emre neighborhood of Bağlar district of Amed.
Allegedly, the sound of a gun came from the house shortly after an argument between Mucella and the man she was married to. Medical teams who arrived at the scene took seriously injured Mucella to the hospital. Despite all the interventions at the hospital, Mücella could not be saved.
