The social media bill prepared by the AKP was speedily accepted at the Grand National Assembly after discussions on the bill started last night. The 10-article bill is an effective ban on all social media platforms who do not give AKP access to user data.
With the regulation, administrative fines are to be given to the providers who fail to fulfill their obligations, this fee will increase over time. Turkey is at number 15 of the countries who spend the most time daily using the internet.
Online despoitsm
According to the regulation, a new definition of the terrminology “social network provider” is brought to the law. In this context, real or legal entities that enable users to create, view or share content such as text, image, sound, and location for social interaction will be defined as a “social network provider”.
Administrative fines can also be reported by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) directly to the addresses of violators abroad or via e-mail or other communication tools. Information stored by the fascist dictatorship about the violators of AKP’s online despotism includes means of communication, domain names, IP addresses and “other resources”.
This law was passed in accordance with the Notification Law, which means it is given a 5 day trial period before becoming law.
Blackmail
Administrative fines are to be given to providers who do not fulfil their obligations to ‘ensure deterrence’ is increased.
In this context, administrative fines that can be given range from 10 thousand lira to 1 million liras against people who do not “declare or provide fulfillment obligations”.
No privacy
In the negotiations, provisions were issued after the joint proposal of the fascist AKP and MHP gangs, information including the IP address, the start and end time of the service provided, the type of service used, the amount of data transferred and the subscriber identification information are to be collected.
