Nowadays, private warfare tactics stand out as the most fundamental and widespread rule of war, being used by all world states regardless of their shape and size.
Although private warfare is commonly associated with the Hitler regime in World War II, it is possible to detect this tactic much earlier in history, stretching back to the beginning of the statist-authoritarian civilization thousands of years ago. It is known that one of the empires who most effectively used this tactic was the Mongols of Cenghis Khan. The most professional-systematic and effective use of this tactic in the recent period is by ISIS.
Private warfare has clearly become the most effective and indispensable war tactic in the long term compared to the known, classic and expensive alternatives which we wrongfully characterize war as. Private warfare is applied in a more subtle manner, it could be described as insidious, in fact: it fragments society into ‘sectors’ and carries out years worth of scientific, academic research and investigation studies on the weaknesses of these people. This can be best understood in the ‘Frog and Boiling Water’ example where a frog is placed in cold water which is essentially brought to a boil. The frog, which is unable to detect this change, is boiled alive at the end. On the contrary, if the frog is placed in boiling water initially, it jumps out as a reflex to protect itself.
Much like the frog, society can show very strong reflexes when in physical danger, but be boiled alive when made to believe it is safe and expensive warplanes are not the only method being used by the capitalist system to protect its interest.
In our age, the most obvious example of a people who have been brought to the verge of boiling is the Kurdish people. The Kurds have been torn apart in the Middle East, and have been the biggest suffering victims of subtle death from past to present. Although private warfare is a basic war tactic used by the occupying regimes in all parts of Kurdistan, Turkey has been the most relentless practitioner of this tactic.
Although the history of the private-psychological warfare method in the Turkish state dates back a long time, the most systematic use of it was in the framework of the anti-USSR, anti-communist activities of the Capitalist system after 1952, when Turkey became a member of NATO. Soon, the Kurds became the primary target group for the private and psychological warfare tactics and methods of the Turkish state. Especially during the development of the September 12, 1980 military junta and after the Kurdish resurrection revolution, the main tactic applied against the Kurdish Freedom Movement within the Turkish Special Warfare Department was the Special-psychological War tactic.
Turkey in particular enjoyed active support from the counter guerrilla organization of NATO, Gladio, as part of the decision taken in accordance with Article 5 of NATO at its 1985 meeting. The Turkish regime, which also received this international support, has implemented the Private-Psychological War in Kurdistan unlimitedly, without recognizing any principles, rules and values. Since then, thousands of patriotic Kurds have been massacred by the Hezbollah Special-Psychological gang organization called the Hezbol-Contra, which is under the control of the Special Warfare Department developed against the Kurdish Freedom Movement.
In 93, Turkish President Turgut Özal was poisoned and slaughtered by Gladio due to the dialogue with the PKK in order to solve the Kurdish problem. According to Özal, the Gendarmerie General Commander Eşref Bitlis and the Minister of State Adnan Kahveci were assassinated by the state’s Special-Psychological war gangs and the whole assassination was served as an accident.
Turkish Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan, who was also looking for dialogue with the PKK in 1997, was sacked by the Special-Psychological War gangs following a coup on 28 February. The decline of the AKP government and the Ecevit Government, which opened the way to power of the Private-Psychological War Chief Erdogan, was also dropped by the same Private-Psychological warfare team.
Of course, this period also witnessed the planning of Private-Psychological war conspiracies planned by NATO Gladio in partnership with the Turkish fascist regime and aiming to put the PKK on the list of EU (European Union) terrorist organizations. The most obvious of these conspiracies is the murder of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme, who was known for his support for the Social Democrats, who was a friend of the Kurds and the Vietnam National Liberation Movement. Immediately after the assassination, Olof Palme’s killing was pinned on the PKK by Turkish and international media sources.
With this Special-Psychological war on the agenda, the infrastructure was laid to include the PKK on the terrorism list, which caused the Kurdish People’s struggle for existence and freedom to be criminalised throughout Europe. The court decision announced by the Swedish government 34 years later is the confession of the Private-Psychological war in this example.
