The PKK Executive Committee greeted the historic resistance of 14 July. “As the movement and the people, we are experiencing the 38th anniversary of the Great Death Fast Resistance, which started on 14 July 1982 in the Diyarbakır dungeon and ended in victory. We are entering the 39th victory year of historical resistance,” the PKK shared.
Marking 14 July as the National Day of Honor, the PKK commemorated Martyrs Mehmet Hayri Durmuş, Kemal Pir, Akif Yılmaz and Ali Çiçek “with deep respect, love and gratitude.”
“As the movement and the people, we state that in the 39th year of resistance we will fight stronger with the Spirit of July 14 and win bigger.”
The Newroz Resistance
Highlighting that the Great Resistance developed as a continuation of Mazlum Dogan’s Newroz Resistance, the PKK emphasised that The Resistance of the Fours which was led by Ferhat Kurtay defeated the fascist coup of September 12.
Emphasising that the PKK cadres, representing the Kurdish nation, demonstrated the invincibility and victory power of the freedom and democracy ideology of the movement. In the fight against the Turkish genocide mentality and politics, being heightened by the fascist-military coup of September 12, 1980, the power of belief was appreciated.
“As the resistance movement that developed in the most challenging and unequal conditions in history, the Kurdistan Freedom Revolution has created the line of sacrifice, style, method and tempo that reaches victory by overcoming obstacles.”
Emphasising that July 14 marks one of the most meaningful dungeon resistances in human history, the PKK shared that “it illuminated the darkness of the September 12 coup and revealed the determination of the Kurdish people to exist and live freely. It gave Kurds national honor, will, courage and sacrifice.”
The PKK drew attention to every achievement or victory gained by the Kurdish people in the name of existence and freedom; there is the signature of the great 14th of July Resistance.
Emphasising that it was this spirit which made way for the decision taken by the youth and women of Kurdistan to become guerrillas in 1984, the PKK shared that it was this exact spirit that also gave way to the Women’s Freedom Revolution in 1990.
The line, which was developed in 1982, is still pioneering the struggle especially in the past 22 years since the international conspiracy in which the Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan was abducted, the PKK explained. Stating that there is a direct correlation between the isolation and torture system in Imrali and the pressures and oppression being implemented on the Kurdish people in the North, the PKK said:
“What has happened in the last 38 years clearly shows how this spirit and line is an invincible and rewarding reality.”
We will fight and win against AKP-MHP fascism in the spirit of 14 July resistance and victory.
Pointing out that the AKP-MHP-Ergenekon alliance is a continuation of the mentality behind the 12 September 1980 fascist-military coup, the PKK shared that the system which has been created in Turkey today is the exact system wanted to be achieved by the Junta then.
“The fascist Erdogan-Bahceli dictatorship has insulted the Kurdish people and humanity, with the persecution, oppression and terrorism they have implemented.
Today the regime is targeting the Kurdish people by applying the most severe pressure and isolation in history on Imrali.”
The PKK also brought to agenda the fascist attacks against Kurdish peoples’ grave stones and their holy places, stating that the intention is to spread this fascism by attacking Basur, Rojava and Rojhilat, “aiming to establish a fascist gang state from Efrîn to Xakurkê, threatening the people of the Middle East and all humanity on this basis.”
“As the Kurdish people and the Freedom Movement, we are fighting against such an anti-humanity mentality and politics on the 38th anniversary of the historic 14 July Great Death Fast resistance.
Our struggle for freedom and democracy is carried out in all four parts in Kurdistan and abroad and continues as a total popular resistance. ”
The PKK concluded by highlighting the revolutionary war which has already started to unvelop all over the world with the anti-fascist resistances which have flooded the streets of the world.
In relation to the future, the PKK stated: “The Guerrilla will resist, people will resist, the dungeons will resist. The historic freedom resistance will continue in four parts of Kurdistan and abroad. Efrîn will resist, Heftanin will resist, Xakurkê will resist, Serhat will resist; Our heroic guerrilla forces in the mountains, plains and cities will reveal a resistance that will bring AKP-MHP fascism to destruction.”
