LIBYA
Spokesperson for the Libyan National Army (LNA), Ehmed El Mismari, disclosed that the Turkish state and Government National Accord (GNA) forces are preparing to attack the cities of Sirte and Cufra; “we may witness a great war in the coming hours,” Mismari warned.
“We will witness a great war in Sirte and Cufra in the coming hours,” said the LNA spokesperson, who disclosed that GNA forces, supported by the invading Turkish state, have moved towards Sirte and Cufra.
Mohammed Kanunu, the spokesperson of the GNA forces, said in a statement today that they will take oil-rich cities such as Sirte and Cufra. “We are going to our cities which have been taken from us. We will ensure the authority of the state in all of our lands. ”
EGYPTIAN ARMY
The Tobruk-based Libyan House of Representatives has officially called for military intervention by Egypt in a written statement today. The statement of the House of Representatives headed by Akile Salih said “In case of a close threat to the security of the two countries, the Egyptian Armed Forces can intervene to protect the national security of Libya and Egypt. Our confrontation with the occupiers guarantees the independence of the Libyan national decision and protects Libya’s sovereignty, unity and wealth. ”
Under the Suheyrat agreement signed in 2015, the Libyan House of Representatives and GNA, under the control of the Muslim Brotherhood, were determined to be the official representatives of Libya. The Turkish state bases its support for the GNA on international law, claiming that the “GNA is the legitimate representative of Libya.” Another legitimate representative, the invitation of the Libyan House of Representatives to the Egyptian army marks a new beginning in the Libyan war.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated in an interview yesterday that they had demanded the withdrawal of LNA forces from Sirte and Cufra as a prerequisite in a truce agreement but this was not accepted.
“RED LINE”
In his speech at the army headquarters on the Libyan border, Egyptian President Abdulfettah El Sisi recently announced that “Sirte and Cufra are the red line of Egypt” and that they could “intervene in the event of an attack.”
