BERLIN, GERMANY
Thousands of Kurdistanis and international friends marched in Berlin, the capital of Germany, to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Rojava revolution.
The march organized by PYD Berlin and Berlin DKTM started with the gathering of thousands at Hermannplatz square at 16:00. Thousands of Kurdish youth organizations in Europe, including TEKO-Jin and TCS, attended the march, as well as many Turkish and German anti-fascist organizations.
Speaking after a minute of silence, Berlin PYD representative Süleyman Hajo said that the Rojava revolution is a hope for the oppressed peoples. Speaking later, Women Defend Rojava read a statement from Congress Star.
The Berlin Youth Commune said in a statement: “We stand by the Rojava revolution. We are also part of the struggle of Rojava against fascists here. As in the fight against racism in the USA, we will fight for the Kurdish people,” he said.
On the other hand, the Latin American bloc drew attention to the establishment of new dictatorships in the Middle East. “As socialists and revolutionaries, we will always fight against dictatorship. We got stronger with the Rojava revolution. Rojava taught us a lot,” the spokesperson said.
PKK FLAG
Against the “PKK ban” in force in Germany, anti-fascists opened a giant PKK flag inspite of the ban during the march.
At the end of one of the most populated and enthusiastic marches in Germany recently, the racist German police detained 5 youth on the grounds that they opened the PKK flag.
