COLOGNE, GERMANY
Turkish occupation and genocide attacks against Rojava (West) and Başûrê (Southern) Kurdistan were protested in Cologne, Germany. Approximately 3000 people attended the march in which the slogan “Kurdistan will be a grave for fascism” has left its mark.
Per a call made by the European Kurdish youth organizations JCA (Young Free Women) and TCŞ (Revolutionary Youth Movement), the Democratic Forces Union, the European Kurdish Women’s Movement (TJK-E), FED-MED, today at 15 o’clock Kurdistanis and their friends met in front of the Cologne Central Train station. The march started after short speeches were made.
While activists protested the Turkish state with banners they opened, Turkish occupation and genocide attacks and Turkish-German cooperation were protested, the slogan “Kurdistan will be a grave for fascism” drew attention.
The march ended at Rudolfplatz in Cologne with the speech of MKLP, FED-MED, PYD Germany, Die Linke and Ayten Kaplan at 17 o’clock. The speakers stressed the importance of organizing against Turkey’s attempts of occupation in Kurdistan. Calls were madeto defend the revolution in Rojava.
