According to the statement made by HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) Press Center, 13 Turkish soldiers were punished in the guerrilla actions carried out between 2-5 July.
The details of the actions are listed as follows:
“On July 2 at 21.00 and July 4 at 14.30, our forces carried out assassination actions against enemy soldiers on Martyr Berivan Hill. 2 soldiers were punished in these actions.
On July 3 at 12.30 and July 4 at 10.30 and at 15.00, our YJA Star forces carried out a series of assassination actions targeting the occupants in the area of Tepê Tunelê in Şeşdara area. In these actions, 3 enemy soldiers were punished.
On July 5th (today) at 02:30, our forces carried out an action against the occupiers in the Tepê Dupişk area. 4 soldiers were punished in this action, in which the enemy unit was effectively hit from 3 arms.
Again today, between 06.00 and 07.00, our forces targeted the invaders in the Tepê Dupişk area. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action, in which enemy troops were put under heavy fire, could not be determined.
On July 5th at 06.40, our YJA Star forces carried out an action against the occupying Turkish army located in the Tepê Sor area of Çelê (Çukurca) district of Hakkari. In this action where the positions and shelters in the enemy campus were put under fire, 2 positions and 1 A4 heavy weapon were destroyed while 4 enemy soldiers were punished. After the action, the invaders randomly bombed the area with howitzers and mortars. ”
The HPG statement also provided information on air defense attacks on the Media Defense Areas by the Turkish army.
According to the statement:
- “on July 4 at 10 a.m., Dirê, connected to the Avashin region,
- Derarê connected to the Metina region at 13 o’clock, and
- Goşinê and Kolit areas connected to the Xakurkê region at 15 o’clock,
were bombed by Turkish warplanes. There was no guerrilla loss in the bombings.”
