HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) Press Center announced details of an action carried out in Şırnak Qileban on July 14. HPG said:
“Our forces have taken under surveillence the special forces of the invading Turkish army, which had been on the move for a while in the area between the villages of Osyan and Aqir in the Qileban (Uludere) district of Şırnak. The enemy troops that had been under surveillance for a while were targeted by our forces on Martyr’s Kahraman Hill at 23:00 on July 14.
In this action where the enemy’s positions and shelters were effectively hit from close range, 5 special forces members were detectably punished while 2 positions and 1 tent were destroyed.
In addition, our forces targeted the base station on the hill and the base station was destroyed as a result of effective hits.
This comprehensive action was carried out in memory of our comrades who fought heroically against the enemy in the Revolutionary Move of Cenga Heftanin. ”
AIRSTRIKES
HPG also stated the following regarding air strikes:
“On July 16, at 14:30, the invading Turkish army fighter bombs bombed the Şikefta Birindara area, which is connected to the Zap region, and the Rotê plateau in the Goşine area in the Xakurkê region.
We did not experience any loss in these bombardments. ”
