A 12 year old disabled girl (F.A.) was raped by a man from her village in İdil, Şırnak. While the rapist was not even taken into custody, it was claimed by local sources that the family had attempted to cover up the rape by convincing the fascist police at their local station.
Upon being informed, a fight broke out between FA’s and the rapist’s family, at which point the fascist Gendarmerie Command intervened.
According to the information obtained from local sources; Following the gendarmerie’s intervention, the incident was carried to İdil Public Prosecutor’s Office. Upon the allegation of rape, the child was transferred to the Mardin Forensic Medicine Institute, but a confidentiality order was brought into the investigation.
Cover up
Again, according to information from local sources, all kinds of methods were used to cover the event. An uncle of the rapist, an AKP candidate for mayorship in İdil, stopped the case from being processed so his reputation was unaffected.
It has also been exposed that the son of the rapist is in charge of İdil District Directorate of National Education, and is also the representative of İdil Eğitim Bir Sen, an education compaugn.
Rapist walks free
The rapist walked free after his family members ‘used their bureaucratic relationship’ to forge a health document from Batman State Hospital which claims the rapist was physically unable to sexually assault.
The family of FA is also being threatened by the rapist’s family to stay quiet.
