WAN, NORTHERN KURDISTAN
Over 100 refugees died on the boat that sunk in Lake Wan 13 days ago. The boat belongs to AKP district minister Tahsin Değirmencioğlu.
Attempting to migrate from Van to Bitlis, over 100 refugees died in a boat which was found 106 meters deep near Çarpanak Island.
While details of the incident could not be reached due to the confidentiality decision made in the investigation being carried out, 5 people have so far been arrested. The incident is being attempted to be downplayed by AKP-owned media outlets which only broadcast the corpses that have washed up on the shores of the lake. Coastal guards have not initiated any searches to find the remaining corpses in order to conceal the death toll.
Human trafficking efforts of AKP exposed
While the search and rescue efforts regarding the refugee boat continue, a public institution employee in Van informed that the boat belongs to AKP Gevaş District President Tahsin Değirmencioğlu. The AKP District minister, who called the authorities, confessed that the sunken boat belonged to him, and that the only person who survived the boat was his nephew.
