EASTERN KURDISTAN
The Eastern Kurdistan Defense Forces (YRK) made a written statement regarding military mobility and attacks by the Iranian state. The defence forces shared:
“In recent weeks, the Iranian state has tightened military mobility. In eastern Kurdistan, especially the bordering regions, changes have been made within the army and military power has been increased. Most recently, Mêrivan, Diwandere and Saqiz saw an influx of military forces accompanied by heavy weapons. We are trying to monitor and understand the military mobility carefully.
ACTIVE DEFENSE
“We, as the YRK, are in a position of counter-inertia with the Iranian state, and we maintain this state of inertia,” it said in the statement. “But this mobility and military preparation of the Iranian state creates doubts for us. We state that in the event of an attack on our forces and our people, we will move to an active defense position.
We felt the need to update our people about the Iranian army’s mobility from Eastern Kurdistan and Southern Kurdistan which has been ongoing since May. The mobility towards southern Kurdistan was predominantly in the form of mobility of reconnaissance planes, some of these reconnaissance planes belong to the Iranian state and some of them belong to the Turkish state. ”
