YPS-JIN (Civil Defence Union – Women’s branch) shared a statement in regards to an action carried out by Martyr Sorxwin Roboskî Revenge Unit operating under the union: “Our members carried out effective actions in Amed, Şırnak, Urfa and Istanbul in memory of martyr Kasım Engin”.
The statement provided the following information about the actions:
“Our members carried out an effective sabotage action with handmade bombs against two vehicles in the 4th section police lodge in Başakşehir, Istanbul, on the night of 9 June. Both police vehicles burned with the effect of the explosion, 5 police vehicles were burned and destroyed in the fire.
The number of dead and injured police officers could not be clarified in the sabotage action carried out by YPS-JIN Martyr Sorxwin Roboski Revenge Unit members. While flames and fumes rose from the police lodgings for a long time, dozens of armored vehicles and hundreds of special operations police were brought to the scene after the action.
On 5 June, our unit members carried out actions with hand-made nail bombs against 2 Ural and 1 Cobra type armored vehicles belonging to the invading Turkish police, located in front of the Turgut Özal Primary School in the Yenişehir district of Amed.
The number of police officers who were killed or wounded as a result of the action could not be clarified, while the occupying police escaped from the area after the action. At night, the neighborhood was taken into police blockade.
On the night of June 9, at 02:30, our unit members struck effectively with molotovs, a scorpion-type armored vehicle belonging to the invading Turkish police while it was patrolling in Mişule, in the Firat neighborhood of Sirnak. In the action performed, the armored vehicle was covered in flames.
A sabotage action was organised on June 8 in the Göktürk district of Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul, against a facility belonging to MHP fascists. The facility became unusable as a result of the action.
On June 8, our unit members burned a farm belonging to the fascists of AKP-MHP in Istanbul Boğazköy.
On June 10, our unit members set fire to the AKP members’ wheat fields in the neighborhood of Gercek, in the Siverek district of Urfa, in retaliation for the invading Turkish state burning wheat fields in Rojava. In the action carried out, a 400-acre wheat field belonging to the collaborative AKP members was destroyed.
On June 3, a wheat field belonging to AKP individuals in the Akçakale district of Urfa was burnt.”
‘WE WILL TAKE ENGIN’S STRUGGLE TO VICTORY’
“We state that we will avenge the PKK Central Committee member Comrade Kasım Engin who was martyred as a result of a treacherous attack by the invading Turkish state.
Kasım Engin left us a great legacy in his 35 years of revolutionary struggle. We will carry the struggle to victory by resolutely walking along the line of Comrade Kasım. We will take revenge of Martyr Kasım Engin by destroying the AKP-MHP fascist regime.
As women, we will defend our values, our land, our existence by being in self-defense everywhere. Women’s leadership in Kurdistan and Turkey will continue to carry out acts of revenge against collaborators and agents of colonialism in the metropolis,” the statement concluded.
