Police violence is continuing uninterruptedly in the United States even after the brutal murder of African American George Floyd by a racist police officer. Despite the wave of anti-fascist actions which swept the country and the rest of the world, US police shot and killed a person of African origin for sleeping in his vehicle on Friday night.
On Friday night, the racist American police were recorded entering the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Attempting to arrest 27-year-old black Rayshard Brooks for unknown reasons, the racist police officer also used a stun gun against the unarmed civilian. Brooks, who attempted to escape with the police’s stun gun was shot in the back by the racist police officer.
The murder, committed by two white policemen at a time when the anger towards George Floyd’s murder was not yet relieved, sparked action in Atlanta again. The Wendy’s branch where the murder was committed, was set on fire yesterday. For 45 minutes before the fire brigade arrived, the building was blazing.
Action was also organised on the Interstate-75 highway, one of the main arteries of the city. Protesters who demanded justice for Brooks briefly blocked traffic.
