CENTRAL NEWS
Sema Mazlum, one of the many political prisoners indirectly sentenced to death by the terrorist Turkish state, sent a letter on behalf of all political prisoners.
Sema emphasised that as political prisoners they were sentenced to death during the pandemic, that the AKP-MHP government wants to turn this into an opportunity and announced that as political prisoners they are going to start taking action.
In the letter sent by prisoner Sema Mazlum, attention was drawn to the purpose of the system in relation to the pandemic. It was stated that the system wishes to prolong its life and has created the optimum conditions for this through Covid-19; that an atmosphere of fear is prevailing over society, that people are prisoners in their own homes, and that all social opposition is silent.
The letter further noted that repressive regimes became more authoritarian, and society was made dependent on the state and a global prison was formed.
Stating that “One of the governments that turned this environment into an opportunity is the AKP-MHP government;” the letter included the following:
“Rights are being ignored in the name of taking precautions against the virus. As prisoners, we took our share of these suppressive measures. Our communication with the coronavirus excuse has been restricted and isolation and pressure have increased. More importantly, the treatment conditions of our friends have disappeared.
During this period, Sabri Kaya and Vefa Kartal were martyred in succession. We are highly anxious as there are a number of sick friends. The coronavirus and therefore the lack of measures taken increase the life-threatening risk suffered by our friends. In such a process, the MHP-AKP government issued the Criminal Enforcement Bill package through the Assembly with its usual opportunism. With this package, the government selectively released a limited number of convicts. Released were gang leaders, rapists. The Enforcement Bill was designed to serve the genocide.
With this package, isolation, arbitrary and oppressive practices have increased in the dungeons. Political prisoners inside, Kurdish prisoners in particular, are sentenced to death. It is necessary to force this court to implement this Bill, which is examined in the Constitutional Court, according to the principle of constitutional equality. We are concerned that the repressive practices of authoritarian regimes that develop under the pretext of coronavirus become permanent inside and outside.
ORGANISED ACTION
As revolutionary prisoners, we know how to resist under all circumstances, we know well. We can never ask for power. However, the principle of equality of the constitution was unapplied with the aid of bylaws and other methods of special warfare.
The gangs were released and the remainder were sentenced to death; we do not accept this. It should be known that if something happens to any of our friends because of coronavirus, we will never be silent. For these reasons, we would like to announce that we have started some protest actions as a dungeon for warning purposes. The fact that all of our friends are actively involved and their organized approach in this instance will provide success.
As of June, petitions will be regularly sent to the UN, Amnesty Organization, HRA, the Assembly Presidency, the Ministry of Justice and the Presidency for the first week. In the next process, actions such as not taking food trays and chanting slogans will continue.
SUPPORT FROM THE OUTSIDE
It will add strength to our strength to participate in our actions which we will develop, by making press releases, sitting in front of the Constitutional Court and turning the streets into areas of resistance.
We believe that our families, patriotic people and democratic circles, our friends, everyone with conscientious sensitivity, moral and practical stance will not be silent against the genocide practices in the dungeon, and the street will be the voice of resistance.
We wish condolences to the families of our friends Sabri Kaya and Vefa Kartal who were martyred in the dungeon, and we reiterate our commitment to their memories. ”
