Martyr Mehmet Sevgat (Bedran) Revenge Unit organized an action in memory of the martyred PKK Central Committee Member Kasım Engin.
In the written statement made by the Revenge Unit, it was emphasised: “The fascist Turkish state continues to target freedom fighters with the support of traitorous Kurds. Recently, PKK Central Committee Member Kasım Engin was martyred in an air strike in the Media Defense Zones. Let the fascist state and the traitorous Kurds who martyred comrade Kasım, a pioneer of the Kurdish freedom struggle, that you will never be able to liquidate this struggle. Leader Apo is leading this struggle with immense resistance in İmralı.”
The written statement continues as such: “We state that we will do whatever it takes to be worthy of our martyrs and this struggle and we warn the line of betrayal; pull those bloody hands! All kinds of traitors and state officials who have the blood of our martyrs on their hands will be our target. ”
The Revenge Unit announced the details of their action which was carried out as a retaliation to the martyrdom of Kasım Engin:
“On 9 June, at 23:00, an action was taken against the transformer general distribution center and annex building of TEDAŞ in the Çınar district of Amed. The security guards, who saw our unit shooting the building and the transformer with personal weapons, fled the area.
Our unit then carried out a sabotage action against the building and the transformer. As a result of the action, the building completely turned to ash, the transformer center became unusable, and great financial damage occurred in the action. ”
