HEWLÊR, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
The occupying Turkish state has been increasing its attacks against southern Kurdistan since June 15, receiving a great reaction from every fraction of society. Leading writers, intellectuals, artists, and many political parties have demonstrated their reactions to the invasion and massacre attacks through marches, rallies and actions. The Regional Kurdistan Government was pressured by this reaction to make a statement yesterday about the ongoing attacks.
The statement was made after 5 civilians were martyred in the bombardments of the invading Turkish state of Sida village in Şeladize, and the village of Golka in the Kanina region.
In the statement made by KDP Spokesperson Adıl Cotyar, the Turkish state’s invasion attacks were never mentioned, and no serious condemnation was made regarding the massacre of civilians. Instead of directly condemning the massacres of the Turkish state, the expression “The Kurdistan Region Government condemns the martyrdom and casualties of civilians, regardless of the side and for whatever reason”.
Statements emphasizing that the PKK should withdraw from those regions in order not to cause attacks on the borders of the Kurdistan Region continued to be made.
Cotyar said that the Kurdistan Region wants a friendly relationship with neighboring countries and does not want to attack any country from the territory of the Kurdistan Region.
