BEHDİNAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) stated that HPG forces are not active in Maxmur or Shengal, which were targeted by Turkish fighter jets simultaneously last night: “These attacks are no different from the massacres committed by the ISIS mentality.”
HPG noted that there was no guerrilla losses in the air strikes against the Media Defense Areas which was also put under heavy bombardment last night.
The statement released by HPG regarding the attacks is as follows:
“The invading Turkish army has carried out air strikes against the Media Defense Areas, Maxmur Refugee Camp and Shengal. The invading Turkish army served the Maxmur Refugee Camp and the attacks against Shengal through the media under its own narrative. The invading Turkish state has attempted to cover up the massacres it will carry out by distorting this attack against the civilian people protecting their territory and their defense forces.
By attacking the Ezîdî people of Shengal, targeting specifically the people in a refugee camp who have escaped the persecution of ISIS, the Turkish state has revealed its true face once again.
The colonialist Turkish state is carrying out lowly attacks against the Kurds, attacking every value and gain belonging to the Kurdish people by producing various excuses. These attacks target the achievements of the Kurdish people and peoples in the region. These attacks against the people of Maxmur and Shengal who resisted against ISIS are no different from the mentality of ISIS.
NO HPG MOBILITY IN THOSE AREAS
Our HPG forces do not have any activity or mobility in the aforementioned areas. Our forces will respond harshly to every attack that the invaders make and will make against the Kurdish people and their achievements in any part of Kurdistan.
