HEWLÊR, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
The invading Turkish state bombarded the Media Defense Areas, Shengal and Martyr Rustem Camp in Maxmur with over 50 warplanes on the night of June 15. While no official announcement has been made by the KDP administrators regarding the bombardments, details of the secret meeting at the Turkish Consulate General in Hewlêr have been revealed.
According to the information we received from local sources, a few days before the attack the Turkish state held a secret meeting with a delegation from the Hewlêr Turkish Consulate General. Sources stated that the meeting took place before the visit of MIT chief worker Hakan Fidan and Hulusi Akar to Baghdad.
It was stated that besides Neçîrvan Barzanî, Southern Kurdistan’s Minister of Economy, Turkish Hewlêr Consulate General Hakan Karaçay and MİT staff attended the meeting. It was noted that the MIT staff brought some attacks to the agenda, and in return, KDP made some concessions on economic matters.
