Turkish gangleader Tayyip Erdogan was heavily scrutinised in a video conference he held on 26 June, in which he spoke to members of the AKP’s youth arm through social media.
The programme attracted attention having a substantial number of dislikes (over fivefold) in proportion to its ‘like’ statistics.
University students who joined the conference forced Tayyip Erdogan to disable comments during the conference by flooding the comments section with the hashtag “OyMoyYok,” meaning “NoVote.”
The move has since swept over all social media platforms, with #OyMoyYok trending at number one within Turkey with over 115 thousand engagements.
As much as the AKP regime’s media outlets have tried to pin the growing backlash on the Feto organisation or the mayor of Istanbul for ‘buying dislikes’, messages posted on social media reflect the anger of the youth against the fascist, corrupt AKP regime.
Tensions continue to spread as the social media accounts of the young people are being suspended in line with court decisions of the Turkish government.
