BEHDINAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) shared in a written statement the details of the invasion attacks launched by the invading Turkish army against the Heftanin region and the details of guerrilla actions against the invaders. The statement released by HPG is as follows:
“On June 17, our forces carried out an action targeting the units of the invading Turkish army on the move from Martyr Berivan hill to Martyr Dara hill. While the units were struck effectively, the number of casualties couldn’t be clarified. The advance of the Turkish forces was stopped the area.
On the same day, our guerrillas targeted an attack helicopter bombarding the area and forced it to retreat from the region.
On June 20, our guerrillas carried out an action targeting the invading Turkish units positioned on Martyr Sipan hill. In the action, the number of casualties couldn’t be clarified.
On the same day, warplanes of the invading Turkish army heavily shelled the areas of Xantur and Geliye Pisaxa at night hours. The attack helicopters that moved towards the scene after the aerial bombardment were hit by guerrillas and forced to retreat.”
Air attacks
“On June 18, warplanes of the invading Turkish army bombed the vicinity of Sergele village in Duhok’s Amadiya district.
Our guerrillas suffered no casualties as a result of the bombardments.”
