CENTRAL NEWS

Tension continues to prevail in and around Zînê Wertê, following a coordinated attack by the KDP and MIT in the region, which is of strategic importance to the PKK due to its proximity to Qendil. The KDP has since hosted the opening of an MIT representative office, expanding its activity in the region.

MIT was reportedly already institutionalised and organized in various places in Hewlêr and across southern Kurdistan, with operations being controlled from Turkish consulate buildings, Turkish institutions, KDP official buildings and workplaces. It had previously been known that the MIT were organising and travelling in and around Hewlêr, under the guise of Kaplan Agency.

KDP INTELLIGENCE A BRANCH OF MIT

It was also revealed that MIT and Turkish Special Forces were positioned at the National Turkmen Front headquarters and branches in Kirkuk, and the military bases in Behdinan and Basika, and managed their network of espionage in the area through special units in the headquarters of the al-Hashd al-Watani group and Roj Peshmerga.

It turned out that KDP intelligence, Parastın, had weekly meetings and information exchanges with MIT, they interrogated escaping members together, shared the minutes of interrogation with each other, and carried out long-term collaborations in strategies.

The information was transferred between the KDP and MIT regarding guerrilla bases, their style of action, weapons and ammunition depots, financial resources, and more.

Parastin’s duties in this collaboration range from deciphering, hitting and capturing, which are carried out under the direct commands of MIT. The collaboration does not only target the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, the PKK, but also the YNK-Zanyari and Iran

OPERATING IN THE CLOTHES OF PESHMERGE

As revealed by Ismail Metin Temel (then general of the TAF,) in the 1990’s, the Turkish Special Forces carried out observation tasks in the region by dressing as KDP Peshmergas. Ismail disclosed that the TSF had spent long periods living and operating with the Peshmerga.

Again, in Zînê Wertê, members of the TAF Special Force were observed within the Zêrevani forces of the KDP in Peshmerga uniform.

It was revealed that Feqi Mihemed, the member of the 7th Regiment (Liwa) of Parastin, was in the region with Hacı Sami, one of the 12 people in charge of MIT in the region, and held many meetings here.

OPERATION AT KDP CENTERS

The operations at KDP centres are carried out jointly with MIT, in the direction of  collecting information against the Kurdish people in southern Kurdistan, Shengal, Rojava and Iraq, kidnapping fighters from the PKK ranks, obtaining the coordinates of the places to be bombed, providing information for assassination and sabotage.

The KDP and the Turkish state are in heavy bargains against the Kurdish Freedom Movement, as well as against the people of Northern Kurdistan who have later settled in the region. The KDP has been known to aid human trafficking and drug trades with the approval of MIT.
