ISTANBUL, TURKEY
The Women’s United Revolutionary Movement (KBDH) militia announced in a written statement that an action was organised in commemoration of Istanbul University student Sibel Ünli, who committed suicide in January.
In the statement made on behalf of the KBDH militia, it was stated: “We carried out a sabotage action against the Esenyurt Girls Dormitory in Istanbul, affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In the action we carried out on the afternoon of 02 May 2020, the empty dormitory became largely unusable after the flames reached the roof of the building.
We carried out our action as KBDH militia in memory of Sibel Ünli, a student of Istanbul University who committed suicide in January.”
The KBDH concluded by inviting women to meet under the banner of women’s liberation and to fight at the forefront.
