CENTRAL NEWS
While the war of hegemony which is carried out to redesign the Middle East continues, every power takes steps to become the winner of this war. Undoubtedly, the winner will both dominate the Middle East, a major trade centre, and will be the determining power in world politics.
The 3rd World War has become a war where the Middle East is playing centre stage, where the states first execute as a proxy, then actively engage and personally wage.
The steps taken today will shape the battle for the next 100 years. Therefore, it is not a war of peace, but a project war. In this war, some will be defeated, some will have to accept the conditions of the other, and new balances will occur in the region due to the character of the world wars. It has not yet been determined how the new order will be shaped. Currently, tactical alliances are being made. It is very important to look at all developments in the Middle East as a whole. Evaluating the developments in only one piece will lead us to incomplete results.
The US and Russia are key players as hegemonic powers in the region, while impressive powers such as Turkey, Israel and Saudi Arabia also have roles. Israel’s international foot is the US. In addition, England, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt also support Israel.
The dominance of Eastern Syrian oil regions is the ultimate aim of the US, while Turkey on the other hand, is attempting to use its occupation to the west and east of the Euphrates to shape Iraq and Syria completely, while maintaining the effectiveness of its policy on the Kurds.
The problem is not only in controlling the oil regions, but while it maintains pressure on Syria and Iraq, Turkey also wants to be effective in regional policies by using the management in Southern Kurdistan.
At the current stage, the struggle to gain dominance between the USA and Russia, Syria, Iran and their forces has intensified. Although they do not engage in a violent war from a physical and direct front, each power wants to increase and maintain its own weight and to gain a strong position.
Turkey, executing Kurdish hostility in every dimension, has to prevent Kurdish gains in the region and would welcome any alliance, cosy with any country that will support and resource this.
By laying the foundations of the Rojava Revolution, the plans of hegemonic forces and other regional players were altered drastically. While countless countries spent years brokering deals and blackmailing North and East Syria (or Rojava), the emergence of self-will on lands that had already been drafted and promised away forced the hands of such hegemons. Especially the Turkish state.
For this reason, the Turkish state under the AKP administration has gambled its entire existence in order to achieve the destruction and liquidation of the revolution, and the complete Kurdish genocide. It directs the Syrian strategy on the basis of Kurdish hostility.
It continues to deliver on the basis of Turkey-Russia relations step by step. The pick-up process started with the fall of 2 Russian planes. Putin took steps to take complete control of the Erdoğan administration instead of entering a hot conflict in retaliation. Putin, in an interview, had said, “I beat Turkey in the Syria war.” Coming from the KGB tradition, Putin turned the crisis caused by the hitting of Russian aircraft to an advantage.
In such a constantly evolving process, Turkey attempted to distance itself from Russia being a member of the NATO, but did not stop giving concessions. Part by part, Erdogan handed over the title of Turkey to Putin, and the civil war in Syria broke this taboo.
While the war of hegemony between Russia and the USA is continuing, the regional states consisting of important dynamics are trying to get their share from the conflict that global powers are entering. However, there was a third factor which such powers failed to take into consideration: the Kurdish factor.
For these forces, the Kurds were both an ally and a bargain in achieving their goals. A new process started with the popular uprisings being led by the Kurds against the systematic crisis of the states. Hegemon forces also want to redesign the region by channelling the way for these reactions from society to benefit the system.
Plans were also made in relation to the powers that prevented domination, and efforts were made to both diminish and weaken this influence and, if necessary, to liquidate that state.
Iran, for example; The killing of Kasım Süleymani by the USA in Baghdad has significantly changed the balances. By putting forward its military and political weight, the USA wanted to emphasise that no new Middle East order will develop without being considered by the US itself. Even if the US and Iran do not go into a war dependant on fierce fighting, the war will continue to be intensified in different ways and methods.
Iran has no other way than to resist the United States following this move. The stronger Iran’s presence on the outside, the more the domination, the strategy is built accordingly. The United States will continue its war until it takes over Iran, there is no other way left. In the event that Iran is weakened and makes concessions from its own wealth, this will change the balance of power, leaving its position as a void waiting to be filled.
A sordid state such as Turkey would seek a piece for itself in filling this gap in the future. If Iran goes to war with the USA and shows strong resistance, Iran is either going to be interfered with or the US is going to step back completely.
Russia does not want Iran and the USA to be in full violence because Russia is an ally of Iran. China may also approach likewise. Considering these, it is seen that the struggle will continue on a multilateral and complex level. It is this war that will determine the fate of the region, so to speak.
Turkey will be left outside the new project, so applying the tactics of Iran’s foreign policy, Turkey is taking some steps of its own. Although Tayyip-Bahçeli formed an alliance to reform the state, this alliance was a regime that came face to face with many powers by creating an emptied and collapsed government. It is a surrogate regime that has executed the wars of others. It started this quest to present their strength as a “game breaker” and eventually stood against Russia. The life of Turkey’s domestic and foreign politics being imposed is exhausted and it is living its last days.
