BEHDINAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN

HPG (People’s Defense Forces) press centre released a statement announcing the results of an action carried out by guerrillas against soldiers of the terrorist Turkish state in the Heftanin region of the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan.

According to the statement, the Women’s Guerrilla army, YJA-Star, hit Turkish soldiers on April 11 as part of the ‘Battle of Heftanin Move’ ongoing in the region.

YJA-Star guerrillas targeted the positions of the Turkish soldiers stationed on Partîzan Hill and struck from two sides. A reconnaissance radar system of the Turkish army was also destroyed during the action.

HPG also reported further air attacks by the terrorist Turkish army on guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan. Accordingly, Turkish jets shelled the Bektorya area in the Heftanin region on April 9. The bombardment did not result in any casualties among the guerrillas.
