Helin Bölek, a member of the music group Grup Yorum has become immortalised after being on death-fast for 288 days.
Explaining that Helin was martyred, Grup Yorum said, “We invite everyone to the resistance house to embrace our martyr.”
The death fast initiated by the group was launched with the demands of “lifting concert bans, removing the wanted members from the red list, and ending the raids against İdil Cultural Center.”
Responding to the Ministry of Interior’s statement that their demands will be evaluated last month after the group ends their death fast, Seher Adıgüzel, a member of the group, had said, “We do not trust the Ministry. We will not end the death fast until the demands are met.”
Another member of the Group, İbrahim Gökçek, is in a similar condition to Helin, on day 291 of the death fast.
