AMED, NORTHERN KURDISTAN

An explosion occurred during the passage of a vehicle in the countryside of Şawişa (Güleç) in Amed’s Pasur district during the early hours of today. According to initial reports, 5 people in the vehicle died.

Turkish state-owned media, namely AA, had served the explosion as a massacre committed by the PKK in which civilian forest workers were killed. However, upon further invesitgation the killed people were identified as retired cooperators who had spent their entire lives informing the fascist Turkish state about the coordinates of guerrillas, leading to the martyrdom of tens of young revolutionaries.

A similar incident occurred on September 12, 2019 in the Ormankorur area of Amed’s Pasur district. Despite countless warnings by the guerrilla forces in the region, collaborators Siraç, Ömer and Abit Yıldız, Ahmet Ay, İhsan Çelikbilek, Mehmet Bozyel and Sinan Diğer continued to serve betreyal. These elements were killed and 10 others were injured.

HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) have not yet released a statement in regards to the incident.
