CENTRAL NEWS

Two business people who were detained on charges of having sexually assaulted 28 year-old Meryem who travelled to Antalya for a holiday, were released.

Meryem U reported that she was sexually assaulted in Antalya, where she travelled on holiday last year. Within the scope of the investigation launched, business people Çağrı U and Bora T were arrested.

The trial of the two sexual predators, who were detained by the Antalya 7th High Criminal Court, continued till their second hearing which was held today (27 March). After claiming that Meryem had consented to the sexual activity and that she had demanded blackmail money from their relatives, the two predators were released under ‘judicial control’.

On the other hand, Meryem had posted from her social media account before the trial:

“Hello, I’m Meryem. The trial was postponed due to the virus. If the new date is determined, I will write here. If two men who raped me are evacuated, I will burn the world. I will put those who raped me in jail with my struggle alone. I’ll do that too. I’m not giving up.”
