CENTRAL NEWS

Details of the hall in which the Idlib summit was held in Moscow yesterday caused outrage throughout the virtual media world. Putin’s acceptance of negotiations between Turkey and Russia in a hall where two meaningful statues were placed, and published all over the world, raised eyebrows.

Among them, Al Monitor Editor Maxim A. Suchkov argued that Erdogan was mocked during the meeting and negotiations with Putin, and that the characteristics of the hall in which the Summit was held proved just that.

“Putin trolled Erdogan,” wrote Suchkov, stating that there were heavy messages in the photos and that the meeting room was designed accordingly.

Subliminal messages

One of the two statues in the hall is of Katerina who defeated the Ottoman Empire twice and added Crimea to its territory. Erdogans delegation was made to stand by the statue.

The other statue which stood bang in the middle of Putin and Erdogan is of Russian soldiers who defeated the Ottoman Empire in Bulgaria in 1877-1878. The statue symbolically had a clock under it.
