While mass Newroz celebrations were cancelled due to the threat of Covid-19, young people continue to celebrate Newroz in Qamişlo by burning tyres in their neighbourhoods.
In the Hilêlî district of Qamişlo, young people sparked the sacred Newroz fire chanting “Bijî Newroz”.
