Instead of the mass celebrations that were cancelled due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19), the youth of the Tevgera Ciwanen Soresger (Revolutionary Youth Movement) celebrated Newroz, the resurrection feast of the Kurdish people, in small groups locally.
COLOGNE, GERMANY
Young people gathered in Cologne in the evening, lighting a Newroz fire at the highest point of the German city. The young people, who also carried the posters of the People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, celebrated Newroz by chanting ‘Bijî Serok Apo (Long Live Leader Apo)’ slogans and traditional halays.
BIELEFELD, GERMANY
The young people, who came together in Bielefeld, congratulated Newroz with the fire they lit and traditional halay. In the following hours, young people in different parts of the city celebrated Newroz by writing ‘Newroz Piroz Be’ in German and Kurdish.
