Universities are known as enlightenment centres. Young minds are prepared here for the future. Young intellectuals are considered as investments and illuminating elements of the future. For this, the role of universities has been taken into consideration since the dawn of history – written history that is. Young people are carefully prepared. Whoever prepared their own youth for the future, the future of the intellectuals, the future is theirs. Or those young people could take the society they grew up in forward.
The Kurdish community has not been given the chance to illuminate this future for many years. Kurdish youth were left face to face with the brainwashing struggles known as the politics of denial and annihilation, and were treated as cultural liquidators against their own society. So much so that they were used to disinfect their own social value judgements, cultural heritage and history. And it can be said that important tasks and roles in this regard have been played by their enemies. It would not be wrong to say that deniers and exterminators have achieved great success with their policies known as the white massacre.
However, history is like a living organism. As they say, just as it is being knitted, it goes on and on. Or it will find the arc from which water will flow, or it will proceed by creating its own arc.
The time has come, the Kurdish people have started to take their own fate into their own hands. Even in the schools of the colonial states, Kurdish youths were enlightened step by step and woke up to their cultural fabric, without ignoring the brotherhood of the peoples. They began to flow by finding their own arc.
In the words of the Comrade Martyr Serbest Kıçi: The genies freed themselves from the bottle and started to free the whole of society from the bottle. And they also took important steps in this regard. While the invaders wanted to delude young minds with their poisons, a handful of intellectuals turned this poison into an antidote and attempted a resistance move. And their resistance started to flow from resurrection to liberation from there. And the rebellion started by a handful of young people revived a people again. And this creation story continues to take root.
A handful of intellectuals who pulled the pin of revolts, lit up this light at universities. However, those universities no longer light up. At those universities, the living lights of Kurdish youth are turned off more and more, every day.
Firstly Şerzan, and later Cebeci (campuses), the lights of young people are becoming dimmer. And every day, they are subjected to the attacks of the young people who have been plagued by the racist ideology of forced fascism under the batons of the police. The lynch attempts are increasing.
Enlightenment work and lynching work are separate things. Kurdish youth go to universities to study. However, they are sent back to their homes as funerals. And it seems that these massacres were introduced as a state policy.
On the one hand, they are being killed by being taking as soldiers, and on the other hand, they are slaughtered in universities.
While on the one hand, a society is trying to be neutralised by raping their girls, while on the other, the young people who travel to Turkey’s metropolises are being intimidated under the baton. The purpose of this is a different rape. The goal is to take surrender.
We know that fascism only accepts one colour. It cannot digest other colours. The colour he loves is black. He doesn’t like colours or else. Just as vampires cannot withstand daylight, fascists cannot withstand multi-colouredness. It can not afford do so. He can’t accept it. And because they could not stand, they murder Kurdish intellectual youth one by one.
And we say that studying in schools in Turkey has now lost its meaning.
We say that the product is more expensive than it is worth.
And we say that if the Kurdish youth want to study, they should come to free universities.
Let them come to guerrilla universities in the mountains.
Let them come to places where there are all kinds of colours.
May they come to the heights, where the spaces and time flow fully.
We repeat, we invite all intellectual brains who are looking for differences, especially Kurdish youth, to join the struggle for justice, equality and freedom to the mountains, and the peaks of the mountains…
Instead of a few more Vietnam’s, we say let there be a few more Kurdistan’s, and more guerrillas
And more freedom universities…
