During a time when leaders of states are hiding underground, living within the limited borders of their palaces due to operation Covid-19, SDF commander Mazlum Abdi was seen visiting the homes of families of martyrs.
While mass Newroz celebrations were cancelled because of operation Covid-19, local celebrations of the symbolic day of freedom and uprising continued throughout Rojava and Northern Syria just before the curfew was set to begin. Amongst those celebrating the Kurdish new year was SDF general Mazlum Abdi who set out to visit the families of Martyrs.
It drew attention that Mazlum Abdi’s visits were not propagandised by the Armed forces or any other media outlet.
