MEXMUR, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
A group suspected of being ISIS members infiltrated the town of Mexmur on Tuesday. The group who was spotted by Iraqi security forces was shot at after being warned numerous times that they were entering a forbidden zone. One person died as a result while one was injured.
It was disclosed that the group who had been warned numerous times that they were nearing the perimeters of a KDP check point in Geyare was in fact a group of Bangladeshis. The group had been removed from Hewler after their visas had expired.
Iraqi forces suspected that they were ISIS and opened fire on them, killing one and injuring one member of the group. The remaining 2 Bangladeshis escaped and reached the KDP checkpoint where they were detained.
