ISTANBUL, TURKEY
Today, Turkey is amongst the most effected countries in the Middle East and North Africa region by Coronavirus, though official statistics plead to differ, reports of cases and thus deaths continue to be announced by the peoples themselves in horrifying numbers. All meanwhile Turkey’s haphazard of a Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, states there are a mere 92 deaths and enough test kits to provide for everyone in the country.
During a time when reactions are increasing towards the Turkish state and their lack of precautions, a video showing Ethem Sancak’s nephew Murat Sancak performing a corona test at home while wearing an AKP ring has sparked outrage. Not only did the nephew of one of Turkey’s wealthiest businessmen, and a valuable friend to the fascist AKP dictatorship, perform the test at home while millions are barely able to afford the bill of being tested, the people travelling to hospitals or waiting in Pharmacy ques also happen to increase their chances of becoming infected.
Though, the outrage does not end here. Murat Sancak boastfully advertised the 125 test kits he had bought, not forgetting to add that he paid over twelve thousand Turkish liras for the kits, unaware that those who do not collude with the corrupt AKP dictatorship are not able to buy the kits because they are so rare. The public has been waiting in the queue for days to have a test kit. The queue in front of Bakırköy Sadi Konuk Hospital is increasing day by day.
Murat Sancak, who shares this video on social media also explains how the kits are used. Still the element did not fail to backfire to the questions “Are these kits sold individually?”
