QAMIŞLO, WESTERN KURDISTAN
Following a 15 day Coronavirus curfew initiated by the Autonomous Administration of Rojava and Northern Syria, the streets of Qamışlo resembled a ghost town.
Though the virus has not yet been detected in Rojava of Kurdistan, the Autonomous Administration has taken strong precautions to limit the impacts of the virus should it spread in the region. Schools, institutions and organisations have ceased activity per the warning of the Administration. Entrances and exits to cities have been limited, while bakeries and markets continue to operate.
Based on the measures taken, the public is expected to stay at home for 15 days.
