In a report published by the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, the Syrian army continues to inch towards the strategic M5 highway, stretching between Aleppo and Damascus. The Regime forces are said to have captured 30 areas within the area that is located to the north of Saraqeb in the eastern countryside of Idlib over the past few days. The Observatory shared that 18 areas still remain under opposition-control between the Regime Forces and war-ridden Idlib.
According to the SOHR, only 18 towns, villages, hills, suburbs and residential complexes in the southern and south-western countryside of Aleppo separate the regime forces from imposing full control over the M5. The areas listed by the observatory are as follows: Al-Rashideen 4th section, Khan Al-Asal, Al-Zerbeh, Al-Barqum, Al-Eis, Tal Haddaya, Maryoudah, Bans, Tal bajer, Rasm Al-Sahrij, Rasm Al-Eis, Kusanya, I’jaz, Sheikh Ahmed, Tal Karatin, Al-Bawabiyah, Kusaybah, Al-Kammari and Al-Kalariyah.
“Over the recent hours and days, regime forces captured more than 30 areas in both southern and western countryside of Aleppo,” the Observatory stated. The areas re-captured by the Syrian army are as listed: Khan Tuman, warehouses of Khan Tuman, Al-Khalidyah, Rajam, Hazmer Hills, Kherbet Kharas, Tal Al-Zaytun, Maarata, Al-Rashideen fifth sector, Zammar, Jazraya, Othmaniyah Kaberah, Talafeh, Tal Tabarez, Maharem, Khawwari, Al-Qal’ajiyah, Khalseh, Zitan, Berneh, Al-Huwayr and other positions and hills in the area.
